The robust and flexible double side-entry robot for stack molding applications

SM3 Twin X-Series is particularly suitable for fast work cycles with high payload, for single or multi-cavity stack moulds. Equipped with 6 independent axes featuring large strokes, it guarantees simple and immediate centring on multiple moulds and presses.

Everything needed in a single system

SM3 Twin X-Series does not require an external palletizing axis with associated gripping tool, typically present on traditional side-entry robots. Large strokes on all axes, together with a built-in wrist, allow all pick-up, placing and palletizing operations to be performed in sequence with a single tool. Programming and management of the robot is extremely simple, avoiding parallel coordination of an external palletizing axis.

Say goodbye to problems of transfer between gripping tools

Particularly with multi-cavity applications, transfer of parts between different gripping tools is a highly delicate step, with the possibility of misalignment and loss of pieces. The presence of a single gripping tool resolves this critical issue at the root, avoiding possible shutdowns and losses in productivity.

Fast inversion of pick-up side

With traditional side-entry robots, the position of the palletization axis heavily limits the pick-up side on the fixed or moving surface of the press. The absence of a palletizing axis, combined with a tilting wrist, allows the SM3 Twin X-Series robot to quickly invert the pick-up side on the fixed or moving surface, allowing high levels of flexibility in the context of production with mould changes.

No more problems centring on different moulds and presses

The large strokes on all axes provide maximum centring capacity and allow reuse of the robot on presses and moulds with different dimensions.

Self-lubricating runners, long-term zero maintenance

SM3 Twin X-Series is equipped with self-lubricating guide blocks using ball recirculation on prismatic rails in tempered steel. This system allows operation without greasing the rails for over 40,000 km, offering significant savings on maintenance and reduced system outages.

Wrist configurable with maximum load capacity of 12 kg

The robot has a wrist with pneumatic C axis that allows flat placement of parts picked up in the mould, selecting between two different programmed positions (vertical/horizontal).

For the most advanced handling requirements a version is available with servo-driven C axis, for power and fine-tuned control.
